Mike aka Adam Selene

The attendees of DemiCon 22 voted and chose Mike, alias 'Adam Selene', alias 'Simon Jester', alias 'Mycroft Holmes', officially an augmented HOLMES IV system for our Moon Guest of Honor.  Mike is a supercomputer empowered to take control of Lunar society in the book "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress". He becomes self-aware when his complement of "neuristors" exceeded the number of neurons in the human brain.  

In the 1966 novel, the computer called Mike takes the part of the leader in a lunar revolution - Adam Selene. As a computer, Mike can handle innumerable phone calls about the revolution without danger to the human participants. Eventually, it becomes necessary for Mike to show himself. As far as we can find, this is the first reference to the idea of a computer-generated person that presents a fully animated picture of a human being.
